US Counties With the Lowest Share Divorced

3,185 US counties ranked by share divorced, from lowest to highest. First are Madison County, ID (2.17%), McCone County, MT (3.58%) and Kusilvak Census Area, AK (3.62%). The middle one of the 3,185 has 11.9%.

What this measures

The percentage of people aged 15 and over who are divorced and have not remarried. It counts who is divorced now, not how many divorces happen. A county where many marriages end but people quickly remarry can show a low figure. Source: Census ACS 5-year.

For most measures, a national ranking mostly sorts places by income and by how urban they are. Each county’s own page compares it with the 50 counties most like it instead, which is often the fairer view.
