Everything against everything

The whole grid at once. Each cell shows r: how closely two measures rise and fall together, from −1 (opposite) to +1 (in step); 0 means no link. Switch between the adjusted figure and the raw one. The adjusted figure is what remains when you compare places with the same density, income and education. The difference between the two views shows the city-versus-country pattern. Switching level changes which measures exist at all: medians cannot be combined into a metro area figure.
