US States With the Lowest How Much Faster the Top Bracket Arrives Than Everyone Else

51 US states ranked by how much faster the top bracket arrives than everyone else, from lowest to highest. First are District of Columbia (-3.7), Illinois (-0.761) and West Virginia (-0.607). The middle one of the 51 has -0.114.

What this measures

How much faster high earners arrive than everyone else. It is the net moving rate for households with $200,000 or more, minus the net rate for all households. Positive means a state gains high earners faster than it gains people in general, which is different from gaining people at all. Florida does both. Vermont only does the first. For most measures, a national ranking mostly sorts places by income and by how urban they are. Each county’s own page compares it with the 50 counties most like it instead, which is often the fairer view.

A ranking describes places, not the people in them, and a high or low place does not by itself say why. All US rankings.
